KwickBox Version 1.2 is Here!

new-feature-3

Rotimi from KwickBox again!

Its been weeks of code sprints. But I am very much excited to say KwickBox 1.2 is now available!

The past two releases (1.0 and 1.1) all went successful. This is because I got lots of feedback (constructive). Cool! I'll just get right into the changes.

  • Show/Hide Profile Picture:  This was a request made by couple of users based in the U.S and South America. Apparently, some CV's aren't allowed to have profile pictures on them. Now in Site Settings you can choose to either display/hide your profile picture. Should your contry/region enforce regulations against displaying profile pictures on your CV, this feature would really help. This feature also helps to provide some form obscurity and anonymity to your online CV website.
  • Show/Hide Email Address, Phone Number: KwickBox now allows users to show/hide email address and or phone numbers. This would definitely add more privacy to your CV's. And it also enforces your potential employer to use the Hire Me contact form on your website as the only medium to contact you. It also prevents potential spammers (pretending to be employers) from accessing this sensitive information. By default, KwickBox has taken the liberty of hiding these details. But should you choose to override this, access Site Settings in your KwickBox profile and toggle this settings.
  • Add Sections You Want: KwickBox's resume builder works in a different way compared to "public" ones. Now ONLY the sections added get to be displayed on the main website. This makes it easier as not every profession/field has certain sections. For example, Should you choose not to add Languages, the langauge section will be invisible on your main website. Add ONLY sections you wish to add.
  • Various security fixes to the access token module
  • Audit Trail Information In Aert Notifications:  When your online CV website gets viewed, you'll begin to receive full audit trail information via email. For example, city, country. With this feature, you are guaranteed to know exactly where your CV was viewed from. Should the city and country be strange or not where you think it came from, you can be able to quickly disable the access token for this individual as it could mean that one of your users shared token with someone else. Your Dashboard also contains full audit trail per access. We added this feature as a way to know where your website was accessed without having to log in.
  • Option To Allow Users To Request Access To Your Online CV Website: This is a major new feature!. Now you can decide whether to allow random users/visitors to be able to request access to your cv website. Here users will be able to request access via the front page of your website. As the owner of the website, you'll have access either to approve/reject this access request. You'll also be able to set the date-time when the access token expires. You can also disable said access token as you wish. By default KwickBox has disabled this option. Should you choose to allow users/visitors request access to your website, visit your Site Settings option in your KwickBox profile and switch it on.
  • Grouping Of Skills: This feature adds a more professional touch to your CV. Now you are able to group skills under categories or Skill Groups as we call it. For example, Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Access fall under the Microsoft Office Suite group or whichever name you choose to use. You can now group skills while adding them on the platform. KwickBox then neatly compiles all your skill information, neatly under each skill group.

  • Skill Icons: Now you are able to add neat icons next to your skills. This adds for a more graphic and corperate touch. You can easily upload icons. These icons will be aligned neatly next to your skill on the main website.
  • Activity Log: This feature give you control and overview over everything that happens on your KwickBox profile. Information added, updated, deleted, email sent, database maintenance logs and more. This helps you track your activities. In the event, someone else tried to delete/update your information without your knowledge (they definitely stole your login information), you can easily view the activity, report and revert whatever was done. This feature also gives an overview of all that you have added to your online CV.

This feature also promotes our privacy transparency promise made. You are in control of your website and platform. Therefore you need to know everything that happens on your account.

To view your activity log, click on the Wifi signal icon at the top of the page ((2nd icon to your right).

  • Portfolio Link Preview:  This feature adds a more modern touch to your online CV website. Whenever you add a URL link to any portfolio record on your profile, the platform now generates a preview link of the site. By default, KwickBox has enabled this option. Should you choose to disable this setting, please visit the Site Setting option in your KwickBox profile and switch it off.

  • Generate Portfolio Page Via GitHub Account: This feature has been added for users in the tech indutry who possess an active GitHub account. With this feature enabled, KwickBox can now generate a GitHub portfolio page using your GitHub username to retrieve public repositories you work it and neatly compile it into a portfolio page. To access the feature, visit the Site Settings option in your profile and enter your GitHub username and then tick the checkbox and voila!

Please note that this feature only supports public repositories. In the next update, we'll be upgrading it to support private repositories as well.
